
The knee and shoulder joints are extremely complex and loaded parts of the musculoskeletal system, their injury or degenerative changes can seriously impair the quality of life. With my specialized expertise, I apply the most modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to treat problems of these joints. My main areas of expertise are minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques and complex joint prosthesis implantations, with particular attention to robot-assisted surgery.
Shoulder Surgery – For Upper Limb Mobility
Treatment of rotator cuff tear
A tear of the muscles and tendons responsible for the stability and movement of the shoulder joint (rotator cuff) is a common injury that causes severe pain and significant limitation of movement. I use arthroscopic or open surgical techniques to precisely repair torn tendons, helping to restore the original strength and range of motion of the shoulder joint.
During the procedure, depending on the size, location, and quality of the tear, I use a single- or double-row suture technique, often using small anchors to secure the tendons to the bone. My goal is to restore the ligaments anatomically, maximize shoulder function, and ensure pain-free movement.


Treatment of shoulder instability
In cases of recurrent dislocations or chronic instability, restoring shoulder joint stability is key. The goal of my surgical procedures is to strengthen the structures that stabilize the shoulder joint to prevent further dislocations and restore full, pain-free function.
Depending on the cause of the instability (e.g. labrum tear, capsule laxity, bone defect), I fix the damaged cartilage with arthroscopic intervention (Bankart repair), or in more complex cases I strengthen the shoulder joint with open surgery (e.g. Latarjet). The goal is to stabilize the shoulder, prevent further dislocations, and allow a safe return to sports activities.
Shoulder prosthesis implantation
In case of severe shoulder joint wear (arthrosis) or extensive, irreversible damage, replacing the shoulder joint with an artificial prosthesis may be a solution. My goal is to reduce pain and improve the range of motion of the shoulder joint, giving you back the freedom of your daily activities.
Depending on the degree of wear and the condition of the rotator cuff, I can choose between implanting a traditional anatomical prosthesis (which follows the shape of the original joint) or a reverse prosthesis (which reverses the position of the joint halves and relies on the deltoid muscle for movement). I always adapt the type of prosthesis and the surgical technique to your individual needs and anatomical features in order to achieve the best and most durable result possible.
